The organisation
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA/Agency) is an Australian Government statutory agency charged with promoting and improving gender equality in Australian workplaces. Their vision is for all people, irrespective of gender, to be equally represented, valued and rewarded in the workplace. Historically, WGEA has facilitated reporting and provided valuable tools and resources to Australian employers to support their intentions for gender equality in the workplace. A new strategy has been developed to influence a substantial shift within WGEA to move from being a promoter of gender equality to being a proactive driver of change. WGEA will seek to develop deeper engagement with Australian employers to help build their capacity to drive action on gender equality, including setting targets for improvement, bridging the action gap and becoming an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality. To accelerate progress, WGEA is establishing a new team to lead program reform and work directly with employers to assist them in identifying areas of opportunity and providing guidance and advice.The role
The newly created leadership role, Capacity Building – Executive Manager, has been developed to inspire and accelerate the pace of change in gender equality in Australian workplaces and to lead the work with employers to implement new legislative amendments. Reporting to the Agency Director, this role is responsible for building and shaping a new team, leading program reform, facilitating and inspiring strong employer engagement, establishing a Community of Practice and direct advisory capacity to provide guidance and advice to employers.Experience, knowledge & skills
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have deep People and Culture transformation experience and a proven ability to engage with a diverse range of employers in a meaningful and sophisticated way. You will be an experienced leader and change agent with highly developed strategic and program management capabilities, able to create and communicate a compelling vision that supports and sustains the work of the Agency to actively engage employers and other workplace participants. You will have a genuine and demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of Gender Equality in Australian workplaces; a well-developed understanding of the drivers and levers for organisational behavioural and cultural change; and experience in successfully building and leading small and innovative teams.To apply
