HRM TV: Sexual harassment

HR can be a legal minefield, but fret not – Hannah Ellis, principal and founder at The Workplace Employment Lawyers and our legal vlogger, is here to help answer those tricky questions.

The reality is, we spend most of our time at work, and romance might flourish between co-workers as a result. But it’s when the conduct is sexual, unwelcome, and leads to feelings of discomfort and offence, then there are potential problems for employers. Hannah gives a run-through of what constitutes the workplace as laid out by Australian courts, how employers can design sexual harassment policies and how workplaces can mitigate legal risks.

Check back for more advice on how to handle HR’s most common legal concerns. In the meantime, if you have a legal quandary or quick question, check out Hannah’s blog here, or tweet @theworkplace_au.
